Our Faculty is conveniently located in Achrafieh, Beirut, within the St.Georges Health Care Complex. We offer a variety of programs in Health Care Sciences. Students can study Medical Laboratory Sciences, Nursing (in English or French), Public Health and Development or Health Promotion, leading to a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Sciences. Recently, two exciting new programs have been added. Students interested in pursing medical education can complete pre-medical requirements as they pursue their BS Degree in Health Sciences; and, since the beginning of the Fall semester of 2005, a new Masters program was introduced in Clinical Laboratory Sciences. |

The Faculty is strongly committed to the integral relationship between academics, research and community involvement, with emphasis on the needs of Lebanon. Staff and faculty are active in research and targeted community service, through the many co-academic programs that are designed and implemented at FHS in response to prevailing health care needs. Recent projects have addressed issues related to school health, reproductive health, mental health, community nursing, ethics, landmine risk education, landmine survivors rehabilitation, and adult illiteracy, to name but a few.
Our academic programs also ensure that students become involved, through extensive “hands-on” practical experience in the hospital and in the community. This enables students to become qualified and capable professionals, with teamwork skills, and academic qualifications to assume effective operational and leadership roles within healthcare systems. Our graduates are also prepared to continue on to higher education in disciplines and fields that relate to medicine, health, development, the environment, and education; recent graduates have been enrolled in graduate programs in universities in England, Europe and America as well as Lebanon.
