| By the early age of 9, Anis El-Achkar
was already interested in printing. He found the splendor and grace of color printing
in particular fascinating, and it aroused a child curiosity in him. His long journey
in the field began more than 50 years ago in 1946, when
he worked as a hand composer. Later, he mastered the delicate job of typesetting.
In 1957, Anis El-Ashkar devoted all
this time and talent to his own printing facility. He operated the letterpress,
a Heidelberg machine, typesetting tools and public relations, while personally
marketing his own products. |
In 1982, Gihad
El-Achkar, Anis' son returned from aboard after having mastered the various technical
aspects of the printing industry in the United States and Europe.
He was the new blood of the company and by then the 1200m² premises were
equipped with two offset Solna machines and two Heidelberg GTO 52’s.
In the early nineties, the company acquired a Roland 70x100 and later, a fully
computerized four-color printing machine, contributing to the ascension of Anis
Commercial Printing Press into its current position as market leader in its field. |
