|Heineken and Almaza - A new deal to acquire the Lebanese brewery at a 79 percent stake
|The Netherlands'Heineken will acquire the Lebanese famous beer, Almaza in a majority part. Since 1960, this European company has held a 10 percent stake in the firm, but now it will be around 79%.
This new deal will include also the attaining of Almaza's brewing equipment, beside its distribution network, however the land and factory buildings are not included in the deal.
The Lebanese company was founded in 1933, in Bauchrieh by Lebanese shareholders, noting that Almaza is the only brewery in Lebanon and holds a 61.5 percent local market share.
