intel REACH Progress Unit and Jordan Vision 2020 embark on an ICT awareness tour of the Kingdom. Launching a national IT awareness campaign, intaj (Information Technology Association of Jordan) and the Young Entrepreneurs Association are organizing a series of informational seminars covering the twelve governorates of Jordan. Starting on 27 August in Irbid, this campaign is scheduled to continue until 17 December, and is expected to raise public awareness about the REACH Initiative, Jordan Vision 2020, the developing ICT (Information and Communication Technology) sector in Jordan, and Jordan's overall IT readiness. This campaign is led by the REACH Progress Unit, recently formed at intel to carry on research responsibilities and provide annual and quarterly updates of the REACH report.
The Jordan Vision 2020 team will, through the Road Show, highlight the main accomplishments of the initiative that represents an economic blueprint for Jordan and reflects an unprecedented collective effort by private sector organizations to bring about reform, modernization and development to create a better Jordan by the year 2020. intel is one of 36 business associations supporting the Jordan Vision 2020 Initiative, which is led by the Young Entrepreneurs Association. This campaign will be launched in association with the Ministry of Trade and Industry, and is scheduled to start in Irbid on Monday 27 August, and continue on a weekly basis to Aqaba, Amman, Karak, Zarqa, Mafraq, Ma'an, Ajloun, Salt, Tafeileh, Jerash, Madaba, and Sahab respectively. The Road Show will conclude in a second visit to Amman on Monday 17 December. According to intaj CEO Ra'ed Bilbessi, the main objectives behind creating the REACH Progress Unit and devising this Road Show in particular, is to provide continuity to the REACH Initiative and monitor its progress. "By leaving an impact on the public we do not only refer to a certain segment or area of the kingdom. The best initiative will die out like any other if it is not sustained by hand in hand and comprehensive public awareness all over Jordan," Bilbessi said. The mission of intel, a voluntary non-profit private organization is to effectively represent, promote, and advance Jordan's software and IT services industry in the global market.
