Improvement of construction activities

We observed this year new records in very important economic indicators such as the sector of Tourism and construction activities.
The Lebanon Brief of the Blominvest explains that construction activities have improved in comparison with last year. The number of transactions was 9 982 in the first 10 months of 2008 and has reached 11 873 in 2009, an 18.94 % growth.
Report also shows a growth of 8 % in construction activities in contrast with 2008, to reach 10.19 millions square meters. This improvement is mainly attributed to the anticipated increase in local demand for the real estate sector. This change is explained by the raise of credit accreditation by commercial bank with low interest rate.
Statistics of the association of engineers of Beirut and Tripoli, shows that construction permit have reached 9.11 million of square meters within the first 9 months of 2009, an improvement of 9.5 % in comparison of the 8.32 million of square meters attributed in the same period last year.
Report from Lebanon This Week of bank Audi, explain that construction permit have totalized 1 410 432 square meters this September, an relative increase of 3.2 %
In parallel, cement delivery reached 3.68 million of tones in the first 9 months of the year, an increase of 17.9 % in comparison with the 3.12 million of tone during the same period in 2008.
The study finally shows that cement delivery is being asked by local and international consumers. Nevertheless theses deliveries have slowed at a rate of 3.9 % on an annual basis.
